SeaDream MilestoneTRAVEL WRITER CHALKS UP A SEADREAMING MILESTONE
One of our travel writers, David Ellis this month joined a very select group – those who’ve sailed aboard the world’s highest-rated boutique vessels, SeaDream I and SeaDream II for 150 or more days. And while it’s a significant milestone, David has a long way to go to catch up with the leaders in frequent sailings aboard SeaDream Yacht Club’s twin mega motor-cruisers: another couple aboard the same sailing he was on from Tenerife in the Canary Islands to San Juan in the Caribbean have over 300 days to their name – and the record is over 500 days on SeaDream I or II held by an English couple. To mark his milestone, SeaDream I’s Master, Captain Bjarne Smorawski hosted David and some fellow travel writers he was sailing with to a special dinner, and master Pastry Chef, Garfield Anderson created a unique cake for the occasion with a “150 day plaque” made from candied sugar. www.seadream.com Picture show David with Captain Bjarne Smorawski being presented with his celebratory cake by SeaDream I’s Hotel Manager, Pierre van der Merwe.
