SUMMER SUNSET SESSIONS ANNOUNCED AT FORT DENISON
Sydney’s favourite island dining destination, Fort Denison Restaurant, has announced the return this summer of Sunday Sunsets - drinks, dining and music session each Sunday from now until January.
Special extended ferry services will operate from Circular Quay’s Wharf 6, as well as limited shuttles from Manly and Watsons Bay to the famous fortress island. Water taxis are also available.
Visitors can plan an extended Sunday lunch, book a sit-down sunset dinner, or lounge on the outdoor couches over drinks and a bites menu that includes lamb sliders, fish tacos, Alaskan crab tostadas, Sydney Rock Oysters, fine cheeses or a charcuterie board.
Fort Denison has just been named in the top five waterfront restaurants in the world, alongside Club Del Doge in Venice and River Café in New York – and Sydney Harbour never looks better than at sunset.
As you are watching the sun set across Sydney’s idyllic cityscape, the afternoon will feature food and beverage service (including cocktails), while the resident DJ and saxophonist Zak cools down the balmy Sydney summer evenings performing his acid jazz and old school R&B in the background. For a long lazy Sunday, the last ferry departs at 8pm.
Bookings will be essential to include ferry and park fares and ensure a spot on the sunset deck and table setting. Casual dining options can be decided upon arrival, but the purchase of a food and beverage package is required.
When: Check website weekly for music program and sessions
Where: Fort Denison Restaurant, Sydney Harbour via Captain Cook Ferries
