2015 was an almost perfect vintage in Orange, NSW. Australia
Orange’s Angullong Wines has release its 2015 vintage whites, include the 2015 Angullong Sauvignon Blanc and 2015 Angullong Pinot Grigio .
The new wines were officially released during The Orange Trio road show in October. The road show is a collaboration between Angullong and Orange winemakers, Printhie and Singing Bridge.
“The concept of The Orange Trio is getting to know our customers on a more personal level. We also want to increase the awareness of the Orange region as a whole, including the varieties and styles that work well here.”
“Each of the brands are unique and together we feel we have a good representation of what can be achieved in our cold climate.”
The Orange Trio Road show concluded with lunch at the awarded Tonic Restaurant in the village of Millthorpe, across the road from Angullong’s bluestone cellar door. “The finale will be during Orange Wine Week with Tonic’s Tony Worland putting on a display of some of the best produce of the region, matched with a number of different, local wines.”
The two new wines are both from the ‘textbook’ 2015 vintage. “2015 was an almost perfect vintage in Orange,” continued Ben. “The ripening period was cool and long, ensuring great flavour, tannin and balance. The soil had good moisture due to winter rain and there was no real disease pressure. The beauty of the vintage was that we could pick at the optimal time, rather than be dictated to by the weather.”
2015 Angullong Pinot Grigio $19.00
2015 Angullong Sauvignon Blanc $19.00
